Brandon Marcello

Brandon Marcello is a national college football insider for CBS Sports, where he breaks news and delivers in-depth reporting on the sport’s biggest stories, from conference realignment and coaching moves to the business shaping its future. An award-winning writer and broadcaster, he has covered college football at the national and SEC levels since 2010.

Marcello joined 247Sports as a national reporter in 2020 and moved to CBS Sports in 2024. He created the industry-standard 247Sports Coaching Carousel, a widely cited resource tracking coaching changes nationwide. He hosts The College Football Insiders on CBS Sports Network and regularly appears on CBS Sports HQ, CBS Sports’ YouTube channel, and national radio and television programs, including The Paul Finebaum Show. In 2025, he also began serving as a sideline reporter for CBS Sports Network.

His work has earned multiple honors from the Associated Press Sports Editors, including National Beat Writer of the Year in 2018. He was also named Alabama Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association in 2014 while covering Auburn.

Before transitioning to national coverage, Marcello reported on SEC programs including Arkansas, Mississippi State and Auburn for The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, The Clarion-Ledger, The Birmingham News and 247Sports.

A native of Farmington, Arkansas, Marcello lives in Northwest Arkansas with his wife and son.
